CHALLENGE

• A suspended structure was assembled using the Adapt Multidirectional Scaffolding System in order to conduct the rehabilitation work on the bridge;
• Reinforcement of the support points of the multidirectional structure;
• Making the Adapt Multidirectional System compatible with the metallic structure of the bridge.

SOLUTION

The rehabilitation of the Silveiras Bridge, in the Beira Baixa region, posed a challenge to the METALUSA Portugal engineering department.

Due to the iron structure of the bridge, the use of the Adapt Multidirectional System was the best solution for ensuring the components of the system were compatible with the structure.

It was necessary to implement support points for the structure, which were assembled in a suspended manner in order to optimise the work.

The experience and expertise of the Metalusa Engineering Department was vital to the success of the work carried out.
