Metalusa Industrial, SA is a subsidiary of Patrilar SGPS, SA, a holding company wholly owned by the ‘Cravo Family’ that brings together businesses in the areas of Engineering and Equipment (Metalusa), Customised and Modular Steel Projects (Modiko), Construction and Real Estate Development (Kumpre), Wine and Wine Tourism (Quatro Cravos) and Beverage Distribution (PTWine).
At the session, which took place on 15 February in the Salão Nobre of the Paços do Município de Albergaria-a-Velha, METALUSA INDUSTRIAL, SA was awarded the Municipal Merit Medal – Gold Grade – for its important role in the economic and social development of the municipality, and for its contribution to the municipality’s national and international reputation.
The ‘Metalusa Group’ publishes the speech given on the occasion by Alberto Cravo, Chairman of the Board of Directors, to thank the employees and organisations that contributed to the merit awarded.
Your Excellency the President of the Municipal Assembly, Your Excellency the Mayor, Your Excellencies the Councillors, Your Excellencies the Entities Present,
On behalf of Metalusa, as Chairman of the Board of Directors, I feel honoured and happy for the distinction received, fully aware of our contribution to the growth of Albergaria-a-Velha’s national and international reputation and the economic and social value we add to our Municipality.
I would like to thank the municipality for this prestigious honour. It is a distinction that requires equal or greater personal responsibility from the company and its employees.
Metalusa’s business success has contributions that I must consciously mention at this unique moment: to thank my father-in-law and industrialist, Mr Fernando Abreu, for his initial help, to praise the dedication of the company’s employees, to thank customers, suppliers and financial institutions for their trust and, finally, to praise the City Council for its encouragement of the business initiatives submitted for consideration.
Metalusa is an economic group with 16 production units, three in Portugal and the rest abroad, with a combined turnover of 48 million euros.
Metalusa’s activity includes the development of engineering projects for the Construction & Rehabilitation, Energy & Industry, Infrastructure and Events & Entertainment sectors.
In order to carry out the engineering projects it develops, the company sells and rents the equipment it manufactures, as well as providing technical services to support its execution.
The ‘Holding Patrilar’, which includes the Metalusa Group, will invest five million euros in 2025 in the construction of two factories in the new industrial area of Albergaria, where it will set up the headquarters of Modiko, for the production and commercialisation of light steel structures for the construction of customised single-family homes, and set up the headquarters of Kumpre, for the production and construction of modular single-family homes.
I’ll end by thanking you again for the honour you’ve received and with the words I often repeat to my wife: ‘I was lucky to marry in Albergaria, a welcoming land of culture and development’.
