Edgar Pinto, cyclist from LA Alumínios-Metalusa-BlackJack had a very good performance in the 43th Volta ao Algarve, which was won by the Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Team Lotto NL-Jumbo), by finishing 10th overall.
In the last stage, Edgar Pinto was 13th, 27 seconds after Amaro Antunes, ended up gaining one place, and finished ahead of Tony Martin, Time Trial world champion. He was the second best Portuguese in the race and the third cyclist from national teams – Rinaldo Nocentini, from Sporting was ninth. A performance which is, no doubt, a great incentive for a squad that is completing its “first official turns of the pedal”. As a team, LA Alumínios-Metalusa-BlackJack finished 18th from 25 participating teams.
